The India-founded AI solutions company has moved into CENTRAL TECH in Liverpool, to empower local organisations with affordable and innovative artificial intelligence solutions, with a strong focus on the education and financial services sectors.
Aivion specialises in designing and delivering innovative AI-driven solutions to address real-world challenges, particularly within education. Born out of lived experiences of increasing administrative burdens on teachers, the company’s founders identified a number of areas where applied AI could make a meaningful difference, complementing academics’ expertise and enabling them to focus on their core teaching responsibilities.
Founded in India in 2024, the business has successfully established partnerships with leading universities in India, as well as reaching an agreement in late 2025 with a UK academy to trial their product. In order to expand their UK offering, Aivion sought to establish an overseas workspace, resulting in a move to Sciontec’s CENTRAL TECH innovation centre in Liverpool earlier this month.
Reflecting on the location choice, Kofil Ali, Non-Executive Director at Aivion, said:
“Liverpool has been making the right noises over the past few years, promoting to the world that it is innovative, creative, and open for business.
“The city region’s strong international perception, forward-thinking landscape, and immense soft-landing support made it a clear choice for us, and will be the ideal area for us to lay down our UK roots.”
Kishor Das, Founder and Director at Aivion, added:
“We built Aivion to solve real, everyday challenges faced by educators, and expanding into Liverpool allows us to work much more closely with UK institutions to do exactly that.
“The city’s focus on innovation, talent, and applied AI makes it an ideal base for us as we scale our technology and contribute meaningfully to the local education and innovation ecosystem.”
Aivion has received a range of bespoke support from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (LCR CA) in recent months, including facilitated introductions to access Knowledge Quarter Liverpool’s KQ CLICK business support programme, and Sciontec’s flexible workspace provision.
Other key drivers for choosing Liverpool included similar inbound organisations committing to driving digital transformation in the city, CENTRAL TECH’s proximity to university talent pools, and LCR CA’s appointment of the UK’s first regional Chief AI Officer.
Looking ahead, Aivion aims to become a trusted partner in AI and data transformation within the city region, empowering organisations to innovate faster, work smarter, and achieve sustainable growth.
The company’s unique technology has been created by a diverse team of 15 software developers, data architects, and AI and Machine Learning specialists, alongside professors who have experienced current academic challenges first-hand.
Kofil Ali explained:
“The demand on teachers’ time outside of the classroom is constantly increasing, and our new product is designed to reduce this burden through smart marking.
Take homework or test papers, for example. Our tool not only digitises hard-copy text, evaluates the quality of answers, and recommends grades based on the relevant syllabus, but also provides a justification summary and outlines what students need to do to improve their responses.
By providing this enhanced support for teachers, we are helping to reduce fatigue and eliminate inconsistencies during the lengthy marking process, ultimately delivering fairer outcomes for students.”
Aivion is now looking to roll out its technology across UK-based universities, schools, and colleges, while also contributing to the local economy by creating employment opportunities within the Liverpool City Region and giving back to the innovative ecosystem that has welcomed the business so warmly.
