Welcome to HEMISPHERE One, Liverpool’s newest labs building. Being developed by Sciontec, a triple-helix partnership between Bruntwood SciTech, Liverpool City Council, Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool. The new development includes a fully brick-built exterior echoing the city’s architectural heritage. With construction about to commence, this stunning new building will be ready to occupy in 2028.

HEMISPHERE ONE.

The 150,000 sq ft (gross), eight-storey development will become one of Liverpool’s first red brick commercial structures for more than a century, and one of the largest since the construction of the Stanley Dock Tobacco Warehouse in 1901.

This development is a true game-changer for the city, marking a transformational moment for Liverpool. As a key step in completing Liverpool City Council’s flagship Paddington Village site, it accelerates
the growth of the Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool) innovation district – a globally recognised hub for science, innovation and discovery.

HEMISPHERE ONE is designed with a focus on sustainability and wellbeing and is intended to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’ and a WiredScore Certification.

Located in Paddington Village, the 8-storey new build will sit at
the heart of KQ Liverpool, and can provide up to 50,000 sq ft of bespoke CAT2 Bio labs and 60,000 sq ft of workspace.

16,000 sq ft floorplates

The flexible Sciontec AI workspace floors can accommodate around 160 people, but can be subdivided into two, three or even four individual suites to suit your needs. What’s more, we will provide you with a CAT-A finish so the space will be ready and waiting for you to put your stamp on it.

Labs

A total of 50,000 sq ft of laboratory space

HEMISPHERE ONE occupiers will have access to cutting-edge laboratories, complete with wash up and write up facilities, and adjoining collaboration space. The site will also include a computer lab, innovation lab, and a hybrid lab environment that seamlessly integrates manual lab work, bench-top automated kit, large standalone robotic platforms and autonomous mobile lab robots driven by AI.

Getting Around

Bike

The bicycle store includes space for a generous 166 bikes and a variety of storage options will be provided suitable for different types of bikes. The facilities also include showers, lockers and vanity space.

Public Transport

Liverpool’s Lime Street and Central Stations are within walking distance. A pilot scheme is current in place at the Paddington Lime Line – a new rapid transit system – connecting Paddington Village to the main train stations and retail core.

Car

HEMISPHERE will have allocated spaces in the existing multi-storey car park at Paddington Village which has a total capacity of 1,250 cars and includes disabled parking bays and electric car charging points.
