CENTRAL TECH welcomes five new arrivals

Back

Five new innovation businesses have moved in at Sciontec’s CENTRAL TECH innovation hub in Liverpool’s Knowledge Quarter.

The new arrivals are located across the building’s range of spaces, from bespoke private office spaces to dedicated single desks and co-working.

Among them is Genetix Ltd, which uses advanced gene sequencing methods to provide verified evidence on the health risks of mould and damp in UK homes and support enhanced safety legislation. The Liverpool-based firm’s new headquarters, in the first floor’s premium office, will complement its existing laboratory space in Nottingham and active client engagement across the UK.

Award-winning innovation skills and training company IN4Group has taken a second floor space in the building, which it will use to co-ordinate its nationwide digital education programmes to improve fair access to technology and help drive prosperity.

It is joined by Inventya, which offers support to innovation companies including funding, finance and R&D tax credits to help bring their products and services to market in the UK and internationally.

Product design and development specialist Butters Innovation, which helps businesses to quickly progress their innovation ideas, has joined the CENTRAL TECH community, alongside national engineering consultancy Fairhurst, which has offices across the UK and has established a dedicated space in Liverpool for the first time.

The latest spate of new lettings mean CENTRAL TECH’s occupancy is now more than two thirds, just three months after it reopened following a significant refurbishment by Sciontec, the spin-out commercial developer of Knowledge Quarter Liverpool, which also owns Liverpool Science Park and operates Sciontec AI flexible workspace at The Spine.

Leanne Katsande, head of commercial at Sciontec, said:

“When we reimagined CENTRAL TECH, we deliberately created a wide range of different-sized spaces that would suit companies at various stages of their development, from start-ups and spin-outs to established firms with multi-site operations.

“The flexible Sciontec AI model that we first developed at The Spine is a really important part of that mix as it gives organisations a chance to take a single dedicated desk, co-working space or something more prominent.

“We are delighted to welcome five more vibrant, ambitious innovation businesses into our latest innovation hub at CENTRAL TECH. The sense of community here, the connections into the wider Knowledge Quarter ecosystem and the excellent transport links make it a really attractive location and we look forward to seeing the building approach full occupancy in the coming months.”
