May is Huntington’s Disease Awareness Month, and this year's theme is Behind the Gene - The invisible challenges and untold stories of Huntington’s disease.

Raising awareness during Huntington’s Disease Awareness Month

Huntington’s affects not just the person diagnosed, but entire families. Many of the struggles caring for loved ones, navigating health systems, managing mental health go unnoticed by the outside world.

Behind the Gene aims to change that. Throughout the month, we’ll be sharing real stories from the community, expert perspectives, and ways for people to get involved in raising awareness.

We have also launched a new factsheet for professionals to help them better understand the hidden impact of Huntington’s disease. It’s designed to support more compassionate, person-centred care, and draws on real-life experiences from the Huntington’s disease community.

We’re also hitting the ground with two Drop-ins:

  • Wed 21st May, 10am-2pm, Sciontec AI in The Spine
  • Wed 28th May, 10am-2pm, iC1 Entrance Lounge at LSP

Please do come and say hello!

These activities are just part of a wider campaign to ensure that those affected by Huntington’s are heard, understood, and better supported.
