CENTRAL TECH customers benefit from its full-fibre, ultrafast, gigabit-capable network.
CENTRAL TECH, the latest innovation hub to be added to Sciontec’s portfolio, alongside Liverpool Science Park and Sciontec AI in The Spine, is ideally located in terms of proximity to physical transport networks and within the Knowledge Quarter Liverpool innovation district.
With digital infrastructure also being an indispensable element in deciding where to locate your business operations, CENTRAL TECH is proud to be offering its customers access to a full-fibre, ultrafast network, thanks to the building benefitting from LCR Connect.
LCR Connect is a 330km gigabit-capable, full-fibre network which delivers some of the fastest internet speeds around, providing faster, more resilient and competitive broadband solutions.
George Barclay, Head of Property, FM and Operations at Sciontec, said:
“Future-ready businesses, like those working within CENTRAL TECH, are deploying technology that’s designed to automate, innovate and scale, and need the associated digital connectivity and internet infrastructure to support this.
LCR Connect’s next generation of technology is bandwidth-intensive, and this connectivity solution, provided at CENTRAL TECH, supports organisations developing these IoT-enabled devices, robotics and AI solutions to grow.”
Key LCR Connect in numbers
- 330km full fibre network
- 10Gbps enabled solution
- 5G technologies supported
- £30m investment to boost the economy
- 50% publicly owned securing long-term benefits
The LCR Connect network is a gateway to access next-generation, future-proofed and cloud-enabled technologies, and will enable CENTRAL TECH’s customers to operate efficiently, innovate creatively and scale at pace.
Thanks to LCR Connect, the Liverpool city region is now the most digitally connected area in the country, and is part of the Faster Britain full fibre network. The network will be capable of carrying high capacity at high speed – one gigabit per second and above – digital information and data and will connect to national and international digital infrastructure at recognised locations.
Adding to the regional economic benefit is the wholesale nature of the network, meaning local managed service provider, Gardner Systems, provides the connectivity and service wrap to CENTRAL TECH, via LCR Connect.
Claire Delahunty, joint venture partner ITS’s Regional Development Manager for LCR Connect added:
“Connecting our region’s innovation centres with the best digital connectivity will put us at the forefront of sectors where we are regionally already strong, such as high-performance computing, infectious diseases, advanced manufacturing, personalised medical care and culture (including e-gaming).
The LCR Connect network is designed to link business, commerce and citizens to Data Centres and the cloud, underpinning technologies such as 5G and IoT and reducing the digital divide across the entire city region.”
LCR Connect is a half-publicly owned joint venture between the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, led by Mayor Rotheram, ITS and NGE.
