Software engineering specialist Ultamation has continued its fifteen-year-long growth at Liverpool Science Park by moving into a new 2,000 sq ft office space.
The firm first arrived at the Brownlow Hill innovation site in 2010 and this latest move marks its fourth expansion within the development, which is owned and operated by Sciontec.
Led by husband and wife team, Oliver and Emma Hall, Ultamation specialises in creating world-leading software products for the home automation and audio-video industries, earning multiple accolades including “The Best Integrated Home in the World”.
The firm’s newly refurbished space, The Garden Suite in iC2, comes complete with a private integrated kitchen, breakout areas and superfast internet connectivity, as well as stunning views over Liverpool’s Metropolitan Cathedral.
Oliver Hall, founder of Ultamation, said:
“Our journey as a business has been closely aligned with and supported by our experience of Liverpool Science Park. It’s an excellent location for us to collaborate with peers, attract the brightest talent and tap into the wider innovation ecosystem within Knowledge Quarter Liverpool. Our move to The Garden Suite will help to elevate us even further and we are excited to see what the future holds.”
Emma Hall, director at Ultamation, said:
“Liverpool Science Park’s close proximity to the University of Liverpool campus is also a major advantage, allowing us to build a strong partnership that includes guest lectures and hosting student hackathons, as well as recruiting from their graduate talent pool. As we continue expanding our Software Engineering team, being located here means we are in the ideal location—and our new office space reflects the professional image we want to present.”
Leanne Katsande, head of commercial at Sciontec, added:
“Oliver and Emma have created a thriving business at Ultamation and we are delighted that they have chosen to continue their journey with us at Liverpool Science Park. We work hard to find the right grow-on spaces for our customers and The Garden Suite is a perfect fit for this next chapter.”
Other recent moves at Liverpool Science Park include new customer, PlantSea, which creates regenerative biomaterials and sustainable alternatives to plastic, and MF Architecture, a small practice of RIBA-chartered architects, who have expanded from their smaller office space in iC1 to a larger space at iC2.
This takes the occupancy at Liverpool Science Park to 92%, which is why Sciontec is working to bring forward further office and laboratory space within the Knowledge Quarter Liverpool innovation district.
The only significant remaining space is The Studio, a 2,582 sq ft space on the second floor of iC3, which also overlooks the Metropolitan Cathedral and was originally designed and occupied by the building’s architects. The space is currently undergoing refurbishment and will shortly be available to view.
