Software Developers respond to current market challenges by launching a new product site.

Digital specialists, interconnect/it, design and create software for publishers across the world. Leading titles, including The Telegraph, Marketing Week, New Stateman and Design Week, use interconnect/it’s creative solutions, to release continuous content via journals, magazines and newspapers.

In response to the financial and operational impacts felt by the publishing industry as a result of COVID-19, interconnect/it have created more paths to market through their new Standfirst platform, addressing publishers’ needs for more channels and flexible options.

Standfirst separates out a range of developer services, allowing customers a viable opportunity to scale using pre-built solutions as opposed to more traditional fully custom projects. As part of this platform, two new products have been launched, building on their existing web-based WordPress software.

‘Standfirst for Alexa’ enables publishers to get their latest podcast and text news content delivered via custom flash news briefings for Amazon Alexa. Its simple to use, intuitive interface enables users to capitalise on the growing trend of voice technology and reach an ever-expanding market.

A similar ‘Standfirst for Kindle’ product is also available, making it easier for customers to create and publish Kindle periodicals, thanks to there only being five steps between initial content and the Amazon Kindle platform.

David Coveney, Director at interconnect/it, said:

“Our expert team have been working very hard to create new and innovative digital publishing tools, which bring ease of use along with low cost to an important market.

“This current development drive is helping to minimise the impact of coronavirus for our customers and will subsequently futureproof our own operations.”

interconnect/it employs 13 developers, technical architects, designers and project managers who have been based at Liverpool Science Park for the past decade. Having first moved into iC2 upon its completion, the business later expanded into a larger suite within iC1.
