The accreditation highlights Sciontec as a disability inclusive employer, establishing a workforce where every member feels valued and empowered to contribute their unique talents.
Having worked closely with one of our CENTRAL TECH based customers, Jamescape, we recently achieved the Disability Confident Committed (Level 1) accreditation.
By taking a strategic and organisation-wide approach to becoming Disability Confident, we implemented a number of measures, with involvement from the whole organisation, to ensure we embedded a disability inclusive culture throughout our business.
This includes ensuring our recruitment process is as inclusive and accessible as possible, by offering an interview to any applicant who declares they have a disability and meets the role requirements.
We have also committed to making reasonable and practical adjustments for our staff so that all needs are looked after, while supporting employees who may acquire a disability or long-term health condition, enabling them to stay in work.
George Barclay, Head of Property, FM and Operations at Sciontec, said:
“The Disability Confident scheme is designed as a continuous learning journey, encouraging employers like ourselves to evolve and improve with every step. We’re keen to embrace a mindset of growth and adaptation and are already working towards our Level 2 accreditation, to be classed as a Disability Confident Employer in the near future.”
James Barber, CEO of Jamescape, added:
“Sciontec, along with Knowledge Quarter Liverpool (KQ Liverpool), are flying the flag for inclusive innovation in the Liverpool City Region and we’re proud to be working with them to embed that ethos into their internal procedures. We look forward to continuing working with them in the coming months to support the next stage of their development.”
