Software development company Harker (formerly known as Jamescape) has expanded its space at Liverpool Science Park.

The firm has taken a new 504 sq ft workspace within iC3 as it begins the rollout of its new software platform, which supports charities and other organisations to manage their work and measure their social impact.

Having been accredited to Level 3 as a Disability Confident Leader, Harker is also expanding its delivery of training to help other employers progress with the government-backed scheme.

Led by CEO James Barber, who completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Liverpool this summer, the firm originally arrived at Liverpool Science Park in a coworking space as part of the KQ Liverpool Base support programme, and this is the firm’s second expansion within the building in two years.

The firm now has five full-time employees and recently appointed Zack Walker, a fellow UoL graduate, as its first chief operating officer.

James commented:

“Liverpool Science Park has always been a great location for us, especially as students, with its proximity to the university.

“The building has 24/7 access, which is important when you have international clients, and you genuinely feel part of a community, with friendly neighbours and really helpful staff, who will always make that extra effort to help you.

“We are excited to see what the next chapter of our business has instore for us and it’s great to know we have the support of the university, KQ Liverpool and Sciontec behind us.”
